Introduction

The Finnish Software Testing Board (FiSTB) organizes the annual Testing Assembly on Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at Sokos Hotel Presidentti in Helsinki.

This 400+ person onsite event is aimed at anyone interested in software testing, quality assurance, and quality engineering.

What are we looking for?

We welcome both practical and thought-provoking talks, from hands-on experience reports to big-picture perspectives. Here are some topic suggestions to get you started:

  • Testing, quality assurance, quality engineering or quality assistance
  • Experience-based talk on tools, as AI or test automation
  • Case studies – what you have done and learned
  • Quality metrics and reporting
  • Test management / leadership
  • Team dynamics and collaboration on creating quality
  • Building and scaling of fundamental testing capabilities across the organization

…or anything testing or quality related that challenges thinking – surprise us!

Please note: sales pitches about your services, tools, or products are not accepted. Vendor-neutral, experience-based talks are welcome.

Tracks and languages

We aim to have multiple parallel tracks, meaning 12–16 track talks in total. One track will be Finnish-language, with the remaining tracks in English.

Please indicate in your proposal whether you can present in English, Finnish, or both.

Talk format

  • Each talk is 30 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Keeping to the schedule is important, as attendees need time to move between track rooms
  • There can be one or more speakers per talk
  • Presentation template will be provided by organizers in PowerPoint format
  • The main auditorium seats 370 people
  • The smaller rooms seat approximately 100 people
  • The speaker monitor is available in the auditorium
  • All rooms are equipped with a PC, microphones, and presentation clicker

Photography and Code of Conduct

The audience is allowed to take photos of you and your slides and share them on social media, unless you state otherwise at the beginning of your talk.

The Code of Conduct applies to all participants, including speakers.

Selection process

Our team will review all proposals based on their individual merit and in the context of the overall program. We can arrange a video call to discuss your talk and clarify any open questions on both sides.

Compensation

Costs are covered as follows:

  • Free entrance to the seminar
  • Discounted price for the possible tutorial
  • International speakers (travelling from abroad): Reimbursement of up to 500 € per talk, based on actual costs (economy-class travel and two hotel nights)
  • Local speakers (travelling within Finland, outside capital area): Reimbursement of up to 200 € per talk, based on actual costs (economy-class travel and one hotel night)
  • In the case of multiple speakers (e.g. a pair talk), the reimbursement is per talk and it is divided between the speakers

The preferred method of remuneration is an e-invoice from the speaker. Other options are available and can be agreed upon individually.

Venue and accommodation

The venue, Hotel Presidentti, is located in Helsinki city center, with plenty of nearby accommodation options. The organizers can assist with hotel guidance if needed.

Hotel Presidentti offers a –5% discount with the code WORKERY, valid from 3–7 November 2026.

Speakers book and pay for their travel and accommodation themselves, and invoice the organizers afterward according to the compensation policy.
