Purpose
Testing Assembly is a friendly and inclusive event, providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), level of experience and education, and any other personal characteristic.
We know this may be familiar to many of you, but we want to be clear: all participants are expected to interact respectfully and professionally, and harassment or bullying in any form will not be tolerated.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all conference activities and spaces, both in person and online, and to all participants, including attendees, speakers, panelists, partners, organizers, track chairs, and volunteers.
Acceptable behavior
Acceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Take responsibility for their behavior and the impact it has on others and the testing community
- Treat others with respect, professionalism, and consideration
- Use inclusive and welcoming language
- Respect personal boundaries and differing viewpoints
- Approach interactions with a growth mindset, listening and learning from others even when perspectives differ
- General photography of talks, slides, or public areas is allowed unless organizers, track chairs or speakers indicate otherwise
- Respect others’ privacy and follow the Code of Conduct when publicly sharing photos or updates from the event e.g. on social media
- Follow instructions from conference organizers, track chairs and speakers
Unacceptable behavior
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
- Offensive, derogatory, or sexualized language or imagery
- Unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Using your talk or presentation to promote personal political or religious views
- Photographing or recording individuals in ways that violate their privacy or ignore explicit requests not to be photographed
- Recording talks or sharing them publicly without the speaker’s permission
- Refusing to follow instructions from organizers, track chairs and speakers
Reporting
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, report it immediately to the organizers. All reports will be taken seriously and kept confidential.
Enforcement
Organizers may take appropriate actions depending on the severity of the violation, including warnings, removal from the event without refund, banning from future events, or involving authorities.
